A Memorial Birthday dinner for the late Joseph Harmon Chavis was celebrated on Saturday, April 20th, at Beaver Creek Baptist Church, near Neeses, S. C. where he was very active for many years. Fifty-One (51) attended.

A beautiful wreath was placed on his grave, also a sign installed on the road leading to the church - which read "BEAVER CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH, FOUNDED IN 1853" by a nephew, John Berry Chavis.

One of the main objects was to secure as much family history as possible to include in the Book being written on the late Joseph Harmon Chavis and descendants.

After a most delicious picnic lunch, everyone assembled in the church for hymn singing, reports and remarks from officers of the Chavis Family Reunion. President - C. L. Chavis, Vice President- Mrs. Louise Chavis and Historian -
